At some point during the lockdown last year, I decided to start my own YouTube channel -- the ELT Research Garage -- with the aim of making research more accessible to teachers. The idea was (and still is) to summarize my published papers in 3-5 minute video clips. It turns out, recording myself is not as easy as it sounds, and I’ve gained some good insights while making these YouTube clips. Here are a few thoughts:

Thanks for sharing your candid reflections! It’s a performance that requires much prep. Some like Eddie Wu are naturals, they treat it as a forum for their enthusiasm. However they also do careful preparation with structure for them to work.
